APGA Not Part Of Merger With APC—UMEH

By TheNigerianVoice-TNV

National chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, has described as laughable the claims by a group that called itself APGA-APC in Enugu, that APGA is part of the merger of political parties that formed the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Reacting to the claims through his Special Assistant (Media), Mr. Stan Okeke, the APGA chairman said that such a group and their members were the faceless characters being used to create imaginary division in the party.

He explained that when the merger talks were on among the various political parties that metamorphosed into APC, their various parties were led to the merger talks by the leaders of these political parties.

According to him, “in this case, who led APGA to such merger talks? Governor Rochas Okorocha joined the group in his personal capacity, and not on behalf of APGA.”

He described as treacherous and unfounded, the claim by the faceless group that APGA ever attended any merger talks with anybody, adding that it was instructive that such a group of disgruntled elements were hell bent on using the name of APGA to create the impression that the party was still in crisis.”

Umeh warned that people parading themselves as members of APGA, especially as it's evident that they were being used to propagate a hidden agenda, would be resisted with all means within the ambits of law and order.

On what the group described as politicking with the APGA national chairman's recent statement on the insertion of APGA logo in some advertorials by the Lagos state governor, Babatunde Fashola and some other state governors, he emphasized that he was not ready to bandy words with a group of faceless men that were irrelevant to the progress and peace already existing within the party.
