The presidential campaign posters of the Adamawa State Governor,  Murtala Nyako, have been pasted round Yola, the state capital,  by yet-to-be- identified persons.

Eyewitness confirmed that the presidential posters of Nyako were pasted at strategic locations of the state capital on Friday night.
But the posters, which carried the inscription, 'Governor Murtala Nyako for Presidency in 2015'    had been removed.

In  a swift response, through his Director, Press and Public Affairs, Alhaji Ahmed Sajoh , Nyako distanced himself from the posters.

Sajoh said the attention of the state government has been drawn to the activities of some unscrupulous mischief makers who have printed posters of Governor Nyako to announce his presidential ambition.

He said the posters were false, malicious and was the handiwork of the governor's political enemies bent on tarnishing the name and good image of the governor.

The DPPA said, 'These posters purporting to announce Governor Nyako's presidential ambition are false, malicious and the handiwork of demented minds bent on tarnishing the name and image of the governor and creating further distractions from his focused and principled leadership.'

Sajoh disclosed that Nyako is a courageous person who would not hide under any faceless posters to declare his presidential ambition, saying  rather he would follow the right process to declare his intentions if he wants to.

He said, 'The attention of Adamawa State Government has been drawn to the activities of unscrupulous mischief makers who have printed posters of his Excellency Governor Murtala Nyako portraying him to be nursing 2015 General Elections.

'The posters are false, and malicious fabrications of demented minds who are hell bent on tarnishing the name and image of the Governor further distracting him from delivering the dividends of democracy to the good people of Adamawa state''.
' We are making it clear that the governor or any of his authorised agents do not have a hand in this condemnable act of pasting presidential posters in the streets of Yola,' he added.

According to him, investigation revealed that the groups of these mischief makers have the plan to paste these posters in Abuja and the Niger Delta region in order to create disharmony between Governor Nyako and President Goodluck Jonathan.

Sajoh said it was rather unfortunate that the enemies of the governor have continued to malign him at any turn since he assumed office, adding that these mischief makers have oftentimes inflicted severe hardship on the people by not allowing the governor to focus on developmental projects that would have developed the state better than where it is.

Meanwhile, Sajoh disclosed that the security agencies in the state have been alerted of the development and to apprehend anyone responsible for the illegal pasting of the governor's posters on the streets of Yola. He said the governor remains resolute in discharging his mandate
