Shehu Borno condoles NUJ over death of members

Shehu of Borno, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi has yesterday condoled the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) over the death of three of its members who lost their lives in a ghastly car accident last week.

The foremost Borno monarch who delivered his sympathy message via a letter signed by the Secretary of Borno Emirate Council, Zanna Laisu Kazalma, described the incident as a great loss to the journalism profession and indeed to all Nigerians.

El-Kanemi's condolence reads in part; 'His Royal Highness, Shehu of Borno, Alhaji (Dr) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin Wl-Kanemi (CFR) on behalf of himself, members of the Borno Emirate Council and the good people of Borno Extends his heartfelt condolence to the Union over the death of its three outstanding members, Olatundr Ojenike, Adolphus Okonkwo and Kafayat Odunsi who lost their lives in the course of duty.

Indeed, the departure of these great journalists at this critical time and age is a great loss to the journalism profession when their services were most needed for promoting good governance and the restoration of peace in our dear nation.
