2 PEOPLE 30 CATTLE BY LION

A rampaging lion in Gulani local government area of Yobe state have killed two persons and thirty domestic animals.

This was disclosed by the Yobe state Commissioner of Environment, Alhaji Wakil Ahmed Sarki to news men in Damaturu.

He further stated that hunters and game specialists have been mobilized to search for the lion and kill it.

The incident he said, was reported yesterday (Monday) after the lion had killed 2 person and 30 domestic animals in villages inn Gulani local government area

The rampaging lion according to the Commissioner, is being suspected to be between the border of Gulani and Gujba local government areas while he also solicited for the services of the Joint Task Force on Security to help in scouting and killing of the lion.

The Commissioner assured that the combined team of hunters and officials of the Ministry will soon capture the animal.

It would be recalled that the rampaging lion which escaped from Yankari Game Reserve in Bauchi, had earlier devoured a cow spotted along the Damaturu-Gujba borders.

Villagers of the affected area are now living in perpetual fear of the beast with most of them restricting their movements.
