Adeyeye Hails PDP Reconciliation Committee Efforts

Afenifere chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye has hailed the Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson-led National Reconciliation Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying; "the committee efforts so far are indicative of the committee's readiness to forge unity among PDP members in the country."

In a release signed by the Director General of his campaign organisation Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Hon. Bisi Kolawole, the governorship aspirant also said he was happy that the 30-member committee is giving priority attention to Ekiti State, adding that no efforts should be spared to bring all warring factions in the State together.

Adeyeye, who described intra-party conflicts as the bane of the PDP in the South-West, said; "In 2011, we lost States like Oyo and Ogun to intra-party squabbles and as we approach governorship election in Ekiti and Osun States, we must settle our internal crises amicably.

He said; "We must begin to operate like one big family under the protection of our umbrella, which is big enough to accommodate everyone."

He noted that PDP can only win the 2014 governorship election if members of the party forge a common front and see the election as the collective project of Ekiti people and the PDP.

"We in PAAM are happy that effort of the Governor Seriake Dickson-led National Reconciliation Committee is already yielding results, with one of the court cases against the National Working Committee (NWC) already withdrawn.

"We are also happy that the 30-member committee is giving priority attention to Ekiti State and we are hopeful that all issues causing misgivings in the party will be attended to and thrashed out fairly and equitably.

"It is our belief that the committee will achieve greater success as it continues its assignment, and we urge our leaders, especially in Ekiti State to give the committee all the necessary support."
