Africa's rice stakeholders and partners voice their expectations for the 3rd Africa Rice Congress

COTONOU, Benin, July 31, 2013/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- Rice has become the most rapidly growing food source across Africa. The critical challenge facing the African rice sector today is to enhance its performance in production, processing and marketing, which will lead to the development of competitive and equitable rice value chains, reduction of imports and increase of regional trade.

The 3rd Africa Rice Congress (ARC2013) will provide opportunity to participants to discuss issues relating to rice science and technology, institutional innovations, policies and key investments needed to significantly increase rice production, processing and marketing in Africa.
