Gov. Obi To Computerise More Schools In Anambra State

The State Government will provide additional set of computers to schools in the state, out of which New Era Girls Secondary School Onitsha, according to the Governor, would get one hundred computer sets. Governor Peter Obi announced this while commissioning a five classroom block and library renovated by the State Government in the school.

Governor Obi said the high student population of students in the school required adequate number of computer sets to enable them key in properly into the modern trend of Information Communication Technology.

He assured that the school will equally benefit from other interventions designed by the State Government to turn around schools in the State while environmental experts will be sent to the School to access the threat of erosion for immediate intervention to check further intervention.

The Governor reinstated that education remains a top priority of his administration to equip children properly for future challenges.

The member representing Onitsha North One constituency at the State House of Assembly, Mr. Chugbo Enweuzor commended the Governor for reversing the high level of dilapidation in schools before the inception of this administration. He observed that the Governor has elevated Education to a pride of place.

The principal of the school, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Agbasimelo expressed gratitude to the Governor for his various interventions which she said had upgraded facilities and totally transformed the school.

Dr. Mrs. Agbasimelo recalled that the ten million naira recently released to the school enabled it to renovate more structures and facilities.

She explained that re-positioning of the school is promoting academic excellence as the students are now distinguishing themselves in internal and external examinations.
