Yobe Spends 8 Million On Feeding In Fasting Period

Yobe state government has spent 81 million naira for the feeding of the less privileged and also conduct activities of preachers in 31 centres across the state.

The state Commissioner of Religious Affairs, Alhajii Mohammed Jauro Gwio Kura disclosed this to newsmen in Damaturu, stressing that 65 million naira was earmarked for iftar (breakfast) feeding while 16 million naira will be shared among 183 Tafsir centres, 81 Nasiha centres, and 281 cleric centres within the state.

He also disclosed that feeding in the designated areas will be supervised by House of Assembly members, Commissioners, and Sharia committee members in their respective local government areas.

The commissioner then urged all committee members to ensure judicious distribution of the Iftar food to the less privileged in all the feeding centres.
