Again, Glo emerges Telecom Company of the year

National Telecoms Operator, Globacom has been unanimously adjudged the Telecom Company of the Year at the First Nigerian Business Awards. The Awards organised by Africa Media Corp in collaboration with the African Business Council and African Council of Chief Executives was held to  recognise the 'heroes'of Nigeria’s business sector, particularly those whose impact has reverberated beyond the country’s shores.

Held in Lagos over the weekend, the 2013 Nigerian Business Awards ceremony and banquet was attended by captains of industries, youth leaders, emerging entrepreneurs and the media.The President of the Council of Chief Executives, Mr. Peter SaSellu in his Citation on the telecoms operator, said that the Council appreciates the tireless efforts and meaningful contributions 'made by reputable organisations like Globacom.'Please accept the congratulations of everyone here…for your demonstrated support and commitment to sound corporate governance principles, business excellence, hard work, innovation and commitment to Nigeria's socio-economic development”.

He stated that Globacom has been an inspiration to others.Receiving the award on behalf of Globacom, the Director, Customer Care, Ms Maria Svensson commended the Nigerian Business Awards for their courage and the integrity of the selection process.Svensson said that Globacom which became the toast of subscribers right from inception will continue to push forward the thresholds of innovation and stimulate competition for technological growth.Glo began operations on August 29, 2003 and ten years down the line, the miracle has not stopped and the applause is still resounding.The company since inception has garnered over a hundred awards and within the first quarter of 2013, being the 10th year of its operation, Globacom has received up to five major awards for innovation and sterling performance.
