The Imo state Governor, Mr. Rochas Okorocha, has dissolved his executive cabinet.

The dissolution  affects all commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants and special assistants.

In a statement signed by the office of the Secretary to the government of Imo State, shortly after the Exco meeting today, it stated that the dissolution is necessary, because since 2 years of the Okorocha-led government, no major dissolution has taken place.

It added that the dissolution is also necessary to give room for more capable hands into the system in order to fully actualize the rescue mission agenda of the State Government.

He however congratulated the officials for their dedication and commitment to the service of his administration and wished them well in their future endeavours.

Meanwhile, he noted that the reconstitution of a new cabinet will be announced in a week or 2 from now.
