Reps take over Rivers Assembly

The House of Representatives today adopted a motion seeking to take over functions of the Rivers State of Assembly.

The federal law makers also passed a resolution seeking the redeployment of the state police commissioner, Mr. Joseph Mbu.

Mbu has been locked in a battle of wits with the state governor, Chibuike Amaechi.

To have legal backing, however, the decision of the House has to be backed by the Senate.
