Transfer Rivers CP, Amaechi begs IGP

GOVERNOR Chibuike Amaechi has enjoined the Inspector General of Police and the federal government to immediately transfer the state Police Commissioner, Mr Joseph Mbu Mbu out of the state.

Amaechi who made the appeal when the Chairman of the Governing Board of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Chief Gordon Bozimo led a delegation on a courtesy visit to  Government House, Port Harcourt, said the state Police Commissioner had long abandoned his constitutional role of securing  lives and property in the state.

The governor said the crime situation had risen, stressing that as Chief Security Officer of the state, there was no way he could achieve any meaningful result in the fight against crime with Mr Mbu as Commissioner of Police.
