Boko Haram: JTF Recovers 42 Police Fragmentation Jacket in Yobe Fresh Attack

At least 42 Police fragmentation jackets, carted away from police custody by suspected Boko Haram terrorist have been recovered by the Joint Task Force (JTF)Operating in Yobe State.

Other items recovered fro the terrorist who had launched a merciless attack in Potiskum town killing a Soldier and abducting three others include 44 police helmets, six AK47 rifle magazines, 80 fragmentation blades as well as  illicit drugs.

Also, one AK47rifle, three Rocket Propelled Gun (RPG) bombs, three RPG chargers, one riot gun, 485 rounds of ammunition were recovered.

Spokesman of the JTF in Yobe State Lt. Eli Lazarus had intimated reporters of the successful  recovery while displaying the arm cache, stating that the heavy fight with the insurgents was ignited by an attack by Boko Haram sect on a military check point at Fune Local Government  on Friday evening.

Lazarus  explained that the Boko Haram men also carted away a vehicle conveying some items meant for the police to Borno. He said the JTF troops had to intercept the insurgents and engage them in gun battle, leading to the recovery of two vehicles, arms, ammunitions and other materials.

“The JTF pursued and engaged them in gun fight thereby over powering the terrorists and, recovered the stolen vehicle as well as another one used by the group.” Lazarus said.
