Group Convenes Civil Society Forum To Review Jonathan’s Midterm Report

A transparency group named Independent Service Delivery Monitoring Group says it will next week organize a forum for Civil Society groups to brainstorm and review President Jonathan’s midterm report.

A statement issued by the group's executive director, Dr Chima Amadi explained that the forum will have the opportunity to assess the claims of achievements of the administration using its own vaunted benchmarks.

'The strategy will be to critique the presentation of the various Ministries and see if the achievements so listed, corresponds with the realities on ground. The forum shall also ascertain if the activities of the administration during the period under review meet the yearnings and aspirations of the Nigerian people.

'Participants shall X-ray the various reports presented by the administration in the following Sectors at the first instance: Education, Health, Transportation (aviation, road, water and rail transport) and Agriculture.' Dr Chima Amadi stated.

The Participants expected at the forum include: Adeola Soetan-Project Executive, Feed Nigeria Initiative among others, Dr. Sofiri Joab-Peterside
- Executive Director, Centre for Advanced Social Science, Lanre Arogundade – Executive Director, International Press Centre,Jaiye Gaskia – Convener, United Action for Democracy (former country Director, Action Aid), Barr. Mahmud Abdulmumin – President, Public Interest Lawyers League, Hajiya Zainab Abdullahi Mohammed-National Coordinator, Transition Monitoring Group

The event will take place on Monday July 8, 2013 at Chrystal Hall, New Chelsea Hotel, Area 10, Abuja at 9 am prompt.
