SAN FRANCISCO, June 25, (THEWILL) – The yet to be registered coalition of opposition parties, the All Progressive Congress (APC), Tuesday named Chief Bisi Akande, as its interim Chairman, after a meeting of leaders of the coalition in Lagos.

Akande’s appointment was made public in a press conference by a former Governor of Borno State and stalwart of the coalition, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, who said the appointment of an interim chairman and interim secretary, Alhaji Tijani Tumsa, are necessary in order to get registered as a political party by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Akande and Tumsa are from the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) respectively.
