Minister Commends Borno Youths for Capturing Boko Haram Members

Minister of Special Duties and Inter governmental Affairs Barr. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki has commended the Borno Youth for their gallantry in capturing Boko Haram members in Maiduguri.

Turaki led the federal government committee on dialogue and peaceful resolution of security challenges in the north to  Borno State to engage  members of boko haram and other insurgents to find comprehensive and workable way to resolve the problem.

” The youth must be commended for their uncommon courage; we must all Join hands to find solution to security challenges bedevil ling parts of this country.

” Nigerians particularly those in the front-line state like Borno are now co-operating with security  operatives by giving useful information and exposing terrorist and handing them over security operative; it really gladdens the heart to see things like this happening”.

The Minister reveal the his committee is making good progress in reaching out to Boko haram members and assured Nigerians that very soon a good recommendation that will bring about the resolution of the crises will be submitted to the President.

” We want all Nigerians to join us in our quest to resolve the ongoing crises in the north” the Minister pleaded.
During a courtesy call on the Borno state governor, the Minister said, ”
we have already had an interface eith security operatives and analyse their perspective in order to develop a mechanism of causes and make recommendation to attack the cause of the crises”.

“This is so that the victims will realize that government is there for them to make productive use of there lives as government has the capacity and will to protect all Nigerians. We are also here for genuine reconciliation for peace” he said.

In his response the borno state governor said,”it is sad that we simply assume that boko haram is a bunch of miscreants however extreme poverty is the real cause because a hungry, angry , jobless youth without a sense of , mission is a dangerous animal.

Governor Kashim Shettima also said, “we have seen the dangers and potentials that come with this crisis and we are poised to re-engineer Borno”.

Shettima  call  on political office holders  to always provide dividends of democracy to Nigerian rather than thinking about how to retain  power; 'most politicians only think of the last and the next election rather than providing dividends of democracy to the electorates.

“We as a people have to improve on the quality of governance and work for the people. We have to see that leadership is a covenant between us our people, and we have to see that we attend tothe fundamental needs of the people.

“We simply assume Boko Haram is a bunch of few of miscreants tormenting mischief, but it is much more deeper than that. The main issue in Nigeria is about the next elections, about who is the chairman of the NGF and so on and nobody cares about what happens in between”. Shettima said.
