Why Yar'Adua was flown back hurriedly, unexpectedly

The country woke up on Wednesday to hear the news that ailing President Yar'Adua
has been flown into the country after staying in Saudi Arabia for 93 days for medical
treatment.

You will recall that following the obvious vacuum in governance, the National
Assembly mandated Vice President Goodluck Jonathan to act as Acting President
until the President returns and communicate his fitness to the Parliament.

This power change became a big blow to the kitchen cabinet of the President
and they apparently felt unhappy with some decisions that Dr. Jonathan have made
in respect of minor cabinet reshuffle and those he intends to make on the economy,
making nonsense of Yar'Adua's policies.

Sources said the Cabinet cabal are also afraid that some senators might make good
their threat to impeach the President following his continued stay abroad in hospital.

It was also learnt that the President was also flown into the country by the cabals to
checkmate former President Obasanjo's obvious return to power through Jonathan's
presidency, a situation where the cabinet cabal cannot stand.

Whichever the pendulum swings, the confusion continues in Aso rock on who is
really in charge of governance in Nigeria. Is it the unconscious and sick President?
or Acting President Goodluck Jonathan? Or the cabinet cabal?
