50 primary school teachers burnt, 6 teachers 5 pupils killed in Borno

50 primary schools have been burnt by the BH in Borno state within the last two years while six teachers and five primary school pupils have been killed within the same period.

Professor Tijani Abba Ali, Executive Chairman of Universal Basic Education ( UBE) disclosef this while briefing the press in Maiduguri on Thursday.

He said, "50 primary and junior secondary schools have been burnt in Borno State while six teachers and five primary school pupils have been killed by Boko Haram within the last two years".

The Chairman also said"512 teachers and 41491 pupils have been trained on HIV/AIDS awareness in the state within the same period".

He announced that, "the Islamic Development Bank is to establish three bilingual primary schools in Borno State at the cost of 10 million dollars pointing out that the schools will be distributed equally among the senatorial districts".

Pofessor Tijani Abba Ali said 12 primary school teachers are currently on training for the K-YAN computer teaching system in India and when they complete their training they are expected to train other teachers on this modern method of teaching.
