PRESS CONFERENCE OF THE DIRECTOR FOR WOMEN, GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE AU COMMISSION

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, May 20, 2013/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- Within the framework of the 21stAU summit, falling within the celebrations of the Golden Jubilee of the OAU-AU, Mrs Litha Musyimi-Ogana, Director for Women, Gender and Development of the African Union (AU) Commission will on Monday,20 May 2013 at 11h00 hold a press briefing on the following:

- Outcomes of the Women Consultative Conference

- Follow-up on the ratification of the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa

The press conference will be co-chaired by Mrs Thoko Ruzvidzo, Director of the African Center for Gender and Social Development of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).The press conference will be held in Briefing Room 1, at the new AU Conference Center, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
