A group of northern youths have pointed fingers at leader of Niger Delta People's Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Asari Dokubo, advising him to ponder over his utterances against the people and political interest of the region.

In a statement released in Kano on Saturday, the group known as Amintacciyar Arewa Youth Movement (AAYM) reminded the Niger-Delta militant how the northern hegemony has been instrumental to the political and economic development of the Niger-Delta and threatened to take necessary actions if Dokubo continue to deride the North.

The group particularly dwelled on Dokubo's stand on 2015 presidency and his boastful comments over oil blocs, warning that Dokubo's comment was capable of destroying the political romance enjoyed by the South-South and the North, dating back to the First Republic.

'We are calling on the Niger-Delta militant, Asari Dokubo to withdraw and apologize to Nigerians for his lousy utterances against the North because this is a slap to the Niger-Delta people who have mutual understanding with the northern people and the North will continue to stay in harmony with non-indigenes of the region (Niger-Delta),' stated the group.

The Press Statement signed by its Chairman and Secretary-General, Jamilu Karama and Aminu Mataima, respectively, AAYM lamented over deliberate marginalization of the North by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan government in terms of political appointments, employment, infrastructure and social amenities.

'We observed that the North has been marginalized and developmental projects meant for development in the North has been abandoned by this present administration and the north is not given her own share of employment based on Federal Character

'Therefore, we are calling on His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to ensure sanity and end the conflict that has been ravaging and crippling the northern states within the possible time,' said the group.

The northern youths also condemned in strong terms the spate of insecurity and poverty in the North, and urged all leaders of thought from the region to rally round Vice-President Namadi Sambo to find lasting solution to the problems confronting the region.

'We are calling on the former Heads of State, former and present governors, Traditional Rulers, religious leaders, political leaders and other stakeholders of the region to meet with His Excellency, the Vice-President, Namadi Sambo, being the number one citizen of region to sort out the problems of the region and bring out a permanent solution that will up lift the region and the country to greater heights.

'We want to use this opportunity to all on Jama'atul Sunah Liada'awatul Waljihad (Boko Haram) to please for the sake of Allah, children and our mothers, end this conflict,' AAYM further stated.
