Okorocha Suffers Minor Injuries In Car Crash

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State was yesterday involved in a motor accident in Orlu town while inspecting road projects in the area.

An eyewitness said that the driver of a Mercedes Benz V-boot car rammed into the governor's car and he received minor injuries.

Governor Okorocha was thereafter rushed to a hospital in Umuna Orlu for treatment.

Addressing newsmen on the accident, Governor Okorocha, with bandage on his forehead, said he was in stable condition. He said a Mercedes Benz car rammed into his official car while he was inspecting projects in Orlu.

His personal physician, Dr. Sylvester Igwe, said that the governor was in stable condition after the first-aid treatment at the hospital in Orlu. He explained that the governor had a minor laceration on the forehead, adding that what he needed at the moment was proper medical treatment.

Commenting on the incident, the state commissioner of police, Mr. Musa Katsina, said the accident investigation unit of the command had been directed to investigate the incident.

The special adviser on media to the governor, Mr. Ebere Uzoukwa, said the accident happened about 3pm yesterday, adding that the governor was in stable condition. He said the governor had left the lodge for Abuja
