Blast Near Emir Of Kano's Palace

SAN FRANCISCO, April 17, (THEWILL) - A bomb went off a few meters from the palace of the Emir of Kano on Wednesday night.


Witnesses told THEWILL the explosion occurred by the Kano Central Mosque located opposite the Emir's palace.


Two suspected bombers allegedly orchestrated the explosion. One of the bombers was apprehended, lynched and killed by a mob, while another was handed over to soldiers, who stormed the scene after the blast.


JTF spokesman, Captain Iweha however, said no casualties were recovered.


The blast is coming a few hours after President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan named a 26-member committee to work out an amnesty deal for members of the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram.
