Ekiti PDP Guber aspirant chides Fayemi over attack on ACN Reps member

The campaign organisation of Prince Dayo Adeyeye, a People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM) has decried the spate of violence being orchestrated by the State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and his party, Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), saying; "the last Friday attack on the party's House of Representatives member, Hon Opeyemi Bamidele by agents of the governor is a pointer to the existence of a killer squad in the Fayemi-led government."

Reacting to the ACN thugs attack on Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele, PAAM Director General, Hon. Bisi Kolawole, said in a statement issued today that it was appalling that instead of engendering development in Ekiti State, Fayemi is now superintending over killing and maiming of innocent Ekiti sons and daughters, including members of his own party.

Bamidele had narrated his ordeal to news men in Ado Ekiti on Monday, alleging that the thugs led by chairman of Irepodun/Ifelodun council, Major Tajudeen Awe (retd), attacked his Prado Jeep, smashed the windscreens because they thought he was inside. He said; "They even shot at the Land Cruiser when they realized that I was not in the Prado, but I escaped by whiskers.”

Reacting, Kolawole called on the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Mr Sotonye Wakawa to eschew partisanship and take decisive steps to bring perpetrators of political violence in the State to book not minding their status and the political party they belong to.

"In the last three weeks, the story emanating from Ekiti has been that of blood letting.

"From Okemesi-Ekiti and Emure-Ekiti where ACN members attacked themselves to Erijiyan-Ekiti where ACN thugs unleashed terror on members of their party that were about to decamp to the PDP, killing Ayo Murphy Jeje and injuring 76 year old Mrs Juliana Adewunmi and others in the process, it is evident that Ekiti is reaping the dividends of being governed by a war monger.

"The question now is; if Fayemi's thugs could attack Hon Opeyemi Bamidele, a fellow ACN member with guns, just because he is interested in the State Governorship, with what are they going to attack we PDP members that are also interested in contesting the governorship?

"Won't they attack us with Armour Personnel Carrier or bomb?"

While urging the police to do everything within its powers to bring the masterminds and perpetrators of violence in the State to justice, Kolawole said; "Ekiti is drifting towards anarchy because soon, the people will begin to defend themselves if security agents fail to act.

"The police and other security agencies must therefore act now before Fayemi and his killer squad throw Ekiti State into anarchy."
