EFCC RE-ARRAIGNS BONI HARUNA, 3 OTHERS

The former Governor of Adamawa State, Mr.BoniHaruna and his 3 aid were yesterday re-arraigned before a Federal High Court sitting in Yola by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged fraud, conspiracy, forgery, diversion and laundering of public funds to the tune of over 200 million naira when he served as the Governor of the State.

Also re-arraigned alongside the former governor are Mohammed Inuwa Bassey, personal assistant to the former governor, John Babani Elias, former Commissioner of Finance and Al-Akim Nigeria Limited.

The high profile case was previously being supervised by a Federal High Court Abuja, presided by Justice Bello but was later transferred to the Federal High Court Yola presided by Justice Bilkisu Bello Aliyu to continue the pending case which started in 2008.

The four accused persons who pleaded not guilty have been on trail before an Abuja High Court since 2008 for a 28 count charges of fraud to the tune of 200 million Naira when they served as government officials.
