The leadership of the Action Congress Rivers State Chapter recently held a crucial meeting centered on how to ensure the party re-engineers and reinvigorates itself for the challenges of the coming 2011 elections. The meeting which was called on the instance of the Leader, Prince Tonye Princewill held at his residence, touched on issues of discipline, respect for the Party's constitution and adherence to all its statutes which in his words would form the bed rock for a formidable Rivers State Action Congress, come 2011.

The Chairman, Mr Suage Badey in his remarks thanked the amiable Tonye Princewill for his leadership qualities particularly as it relates to the discipline that is most needful to bring together all factions within the Party for the overall benefit of the Party. He emphasized the need of every member of the party to forget the past bickering and work together as one united family if we are to move the party and the State forward.

Mr Norisia Pepple the State Youth Leader, in affirmation to the Chairman's statement thanked the Leader and the Chairman for the new vision while promising to align himself henceforth with the leadership and promote the ideals of the Party accordingly. Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze also re-echoed the words of Mr. Pepple and said the RSAC under the Leadership of the Tonye Princewill would certainly change the political landscape of Rivers state. He promised to give all necessary support to the Chairman and thanked Mr Badey for the good job he has been doing to keep the Party focused and cohesive.

Other resolutions reached at this crucial meeting of the Party centered on the registration/revalidation exercise of members which will commence any time from now to reposition the party as the party to beat come 2011 general elections. The Leadership recognized the success of the Unity Government at the centre but expressed its disappointment at its ineffectiveness at the local government level as none of its members were appropriately captured. In the words of one of the members, “there is unity in diversity “

This unity and new vision will serve as a danger signal to those struggling either to hijack the party for selfish purposes or destroy the party if their wish to hijack the party fails. The meeting had in attendance the CTC members and all leaders of the Party.
