United Bank for Africa Plc in conjunction with MoneyGram, on Friday gave out various prizes to customers who emerged winners in the UBA-MoneyGram Fly High promo.

The promo, which ran between December 1, 2012 and January 31, 2013, saw 50 customers emerged as lucky winners.

Ten receivers of money transfer services won return tickets to Dubai, while 10 senders from different countries won return tickets to anywhere in the world.

The promo was targeted at both senders and receivers of money transfer services under the UBA/MoneyGram services in Nigeria and other African countries where UBA has presence and deploys MoneyGram services.

Other prizes won during the draw included 10 i-Pads, 10 plasma TVs, and 10 gas ovens.

The Director, Consumer Banking, UBA, Mr. Owoeye Ilesanmi, said the promo was part of the bank overall strategy and MoneyGram to drive and sustain customer loyalty, whilst encouraging patronage by other targets that required money transfer services from and outside the country where MoneyGram services were offered by the bank.

He pointed out that UBA, as the oldest agent of MoneyGram International, had remained a very dominant player in the money transfer business in Nigeria, leveraging on its over 700 business offices across the country to ensure uninterrupted and efficient service delivery.

The representative of Moneygram, Mr. Peyret Francois, said, 'We are in a partnership, which has blossomed over 15 years and it remains the best value that comes from money remittances in Nigeria. We are well pleased to be associated with UBA.'

Francois commended UBA for the initiative it showed in conducting the promo and urged other banks to emulate the gesture.
