German, Sudanese and South Sudanese trilateral business conference at the Federal Foreign Office

BERLIN, Germany, January 28, 2013/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- With Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle acting as patron, the German-African Business Association and the Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry will tomorrow (Tuesday, 29 January) host a trilateral business conference for Germany, the Sudan and South Sudan. The conference, entitled “Germany – Sudan and South Sudan Business Day”, will take place at the Federal Foreign Office and is open to the press.

The conference is intended to support the African Union-mediated peace process between the Sudan and South Sudan. In the interest of boosting international efforts on behalf of this peace process, Germany wants to continue the dialogue with the Sudan and South Sudan which it has started.

High-ranking Sudanese and South Sudanese delegations are expected to attend the business day in Berlin. Representatives of relevant ministries and authorities will present Sudanese and South Sudanese plans and ideas for the areas of building, infrastructure and transport, mining, energy and water, health and education, and agriculture and the food industry.

Just before the conference opens, Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle will meet with his South Sudanese counterpart Ali Karti. Their talks will focus on the peace process between the Sudan and South Sudan.
