EU Evaluation Mission Visits Cross River

SAN FRANCISCO, January 19, (THEWILL) - A two-man European Union monitoring team with expertise in Development, Water Supply and Sanitation are in Cross River State for the final evaluation of Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Reform Programme (WSSSPR) for both rural and urban areas.


The team will also visit the Ministry of Water Resources, Water Board, the Cross River State Basin Development Authority and the Committee on Water Resources in the State House of Assembly.


The Development and Water Sanitation experts, Mr. Ndeke Kanene and Hammed Adisa on arrival paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner for Water Resources in the presence of the SA Donor International Development Cooperation (DIDC), Mr. Roy Ndoma Egba, Permanent Secretary Water Resources, Economic Adviser, State Planning Commission, State Accountant General, SA Budget and members of House of State Assembly on Public Utilities.


Head of the visiting team, Ndeke Kanene outlined the terms of reference of the evaluation visit to include assessing performances of WSSSRP programmes in both Rural and Urban areas amongst others.


The experts will on Saturday meet with WASHCOM Team at the Committee level and Chairmen of the five Local Government Areas at Ugep before meeting with the legislative Arms of Local Government to carry out an assessment of the UNICEF guinea worm programme.
