INEC has fixed May 5 for the Ekiti State supplementary governorship re-run election in Oye Local

Government Area (LGA).
INEC's Acting Director of Public Affairs, Mr Emmanuel Umenger made this known in a statement issued in Abuja over the weekend.

The statement, said that only accredited agents of the political parties participating in the election and the chief observers of the accredited election observer groups

would be allowed into the collation centre.
It stated further that movement in and out of Oye LGA would be restricted on election day between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. during polling.

The commission said the results of the April 25 re-run election in the rest of the 61 wards and nine LGAs of the state as announced by relevant election officials remained valid.

It appealed to the people of the state "to remain law-abiding in their commitment to the tenets of democracy".

Polling in Oye Ekiti was stalled on April 25 after the Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, Mrs Olusola Ayoka Adebayo, had claimed that there had been undue pressure on her.
