NERC CHAIRMAN APPOINTED MEMBER, GLOBAL ELECTRICITY ADVISORY COUNCIL

http://www.nigerianbestforum.com/blog/?attachment_id=121889 The Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr. Sam Amadi, has been appointed member of the advisory board of the Global Electricity Initiatives (GEI).

The GEI is a joint initiative of the World Energy Council (WEC), the World Business Council on Sustainable Development (WBCSD), and the Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership (GSEP).

The advisory council is responsible for general guidance during the development and implementation of the initiative and for the provision of industry insights and promotion of the results.

Amadi according to a letter of nomination from the Executive Chairman of GEI, Philippe Joubert, and Secretary General of World Energy Council, Dr. Christopher Frei, was appointed to the council for 'his vast experience and knowledge of the electricity sector, environmental and sustainability issues' which will help GEI in its mission.

According to a statement by the Commission's AGM, Media, Maryam Abubakar,membership of the GEI would provide the NERC chairman a veritable platform to make case for the much needed international support of the fledgling Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
