http://www.nigerianbestforum.com/blog/?attachment_id=121627 The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, has said that the ministry was working towards a vision to make Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) an engine for the nation's economic growth.

She stated that with the current national consumption rate of LPG at 110,000 metric tonnes (MT) per annum, Nigeria is ranked among the lowest consumers of LPG in Africa.

The minister, who was speaking yesterday at the opening of the LPG Strategic Workshop and Conference in Abuja, noted that growing the LPG market in Nigeria is a critical component of the nation's gas master plan. Alison-Madueke, who was represented by the ministry's permanent secretary, Amb. Abdulkadir Musa, maintained that there was urgent need to open up the LPG market for better energy utilisation and economic growth.
