What is Chief Banigo Still Doing at FAAN?
From the story I read in Sunday Independent 23/08/09 where Chief Banigo was calling the shots on the airport concessioning, I discovered that he, who was one of those former bank directors that owed billions of Naira that contributed to liquidation of some banks, is still there as the Chairman of FAAN.
Chief Banigo was the Chairman/CEO of the defunct Allstates Trust Bank Limited.
The fact that President Umaru Yar'Adua remained indifferent to the sensibility of Nigerians shows that he is pro-corruption. Could it be that the President is paying lip-service to his government's 7-Point agenda?
Please Mr. President, save us the agony of this type of situation by sacking Chief Banigo and his likes from the positions that were believed you unwittingly appointed them to. Anything short of this will be misinterpreted by the public and thus strengthen the belief that “you never mean anything you say or say anything you mean”; borrowing a lyric-line from a song by the legendary Lady of Songs, Christy Essien.| Article source
