Kaunda, Bensouda join others to receive The Voice Achievers Award 2012

Amsterdam-The Voice magazine through its Achievers award committee celebrated its 13th anniversary with a prestigious award ceremony given out to men and women of African origin who has excel in various fields of human endeavour for the year 2012 across Europe and Africa. The event took place on Friday 16th November 2012 at De Koning Party & Event centre in Amsterdam.

Top honours were given to the first Republic President of Zambia, Dr Kenneth David Kaunda who was recognized as an 'Icon of Africa'. Unfortunately he could not attend as he is recovering from the death of his lifelong wife, Mama Betty Kaunda who died and was buried on 28th of September 2012. He was represented by Ambassador Grace Kabwe, Zambian Ambassador to the Benelux countries. He sent congratulatory message to the Voice magazine and express appreciation for the award and recognition coming from African Diaspora media. Others who joined Dr Kuanda on the award list for 2012 were the new Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal court in The Hague, Mrs Fatou Bensouda, she was recognised as Outstanding African woman personality of the year and Dr. Harold E. Robles, founder & President, Medical Knowledge Institute, The Netherlands for his work in Southern African countries recognized as Outstanding African personality award on his advocacy for health for all.

The Voice Achievers award has been officially confirmed by the publisher, Pastor Elvis Iruh as a yearly event now with that of next year planned for October 2013 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
