Oyo Fires 3 Commissioners

SAN FRANCISCO, November 05, (THEWILL) – Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi Monday fired three commissioners from office “for inefficiency and ineffectiveness in service delivery.”


The Secretary to the state government, Akin Olajide, who announced the sack said those affected are the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Bosun Oladele; the Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Cooperatives, Kazeem Adedeji; and Commissioner for Works and Transport, Yinnus Akintunde.


A cabinet reshuffle was also effected in the cabinet with the Commissioners for Agriculture, Land, Local Government, Environment and Habitat, and Applied Science and Technology swapping positions.


Mr. Lowo Obisesan was switched from the Ministry of Establishment and Training to the Ministry of Environment. Mr. Peter Odetomi moves from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Mr. Adebayo Olagbenro heads from the Ministry of Applied Science to the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Investment. Mr. Bimbo Kolade from the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Lands and Survey; and Mr. Isaac Omodewu was from the Ministry of Lands and Survey to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.


The Governor also approved a new Commissioner for Information and Orientation, a former Special Adviser on Education, Taiwo Otegbeye, who was expressly cleared by the State House of Assembly.
