Cabinet Reshuffle: Jonathan swap ministers

In what has been described as a minor cabinet reshuffle, President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday ordered two cabinet ministers to swap portfolios.Dr. Reuben Abati, Special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, disclosed that Jonathan made the

changes through executive fiats he issued at the Federal Executive Council meeting. The first directive was on the swapping of positions between the two ministers, who he stated will change positions as from next week.

In this connection, the Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Hajiya Zainab Ibrahim Kuchi has been moved to the Ministry of Power as Minister of State while her colleague in the Ministry of Power, Mr. Darius Dickson Ishaku now becomes the Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs.

Abati said the step taken by the president in the power sector is geared towards strengthening the sector. The President also ordered that the council should not receive fresh memos concerning contracts from November 30, 2012
