A Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, has granted the Chairman of the Police Equipment Foundation (PEF), Chief Kenny Martins, the permission to travel abroad for medical check-up.

The leave granted by the Administrative Judge of the Abuja Federal High Court, Justice Adamu Bello, followed an application argued by Martin's counsel, Chief Mike Ozekhome.

Martins is standing trial before the court on a four-count charge of breaching a loan agreement it entered into with an American company, Cavalry Security Group, LLC, totalling $97,500,000 million.

He is presently on bail for N100 million.
Justice Bello, who okayed Martin's request to travel abroad on health ground, has consequently ordered the release of his travel documents deposited with the court in part fulfillment of his bail conditions.

Ozekhome, who spoke with Vanguard on phone yesterday, said his client was due to travel in the next few days, his travel documents having been released to him by the court as ordered by Justice Adamu.

It would be recalled that the police arrested Martins on the premises of a Chief Magistrate Court, Wuse where he is also facing a separate charge touching on alleged forgery of Corporate Affairs Commission documents with his deputy, Ibrahim Dumuje and two lawyers-Joni Icheka and one Cosmos.
