LAGOS, May 29, (THEWILL) - Nigerians are still reacting to Tuesday’s decision by President Goodluck Jonathan to rename the University of Lagos as Moshood Abiola University, in honour of the late acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 elections, Chief Moshood Abiola.

Below are Twitter and Facebook extracts of comments:

“It used to be a thing of pride to call yourself a UNILAG boy or babe, but Moshood Boy sounds like some Motor Park NURTW leader. Oyedepo wia u dey?” - @anonymous

“I think we all are in a country where name change is more important to the government than bomb explosions.” - @anonymous

“GEJ, its obvious you don't have any developmental agenda for this country. You’re just there to cause confusion. Unilag now MAU? Give me a break” - @MuhammedOjeifo

“University of Lagos lost its vice chancellor, lecturer and its name and pride in just one month ... Let's pray for Unilag” - @RuggedyBaba
