Brazen violation of National Industrial Court of Nigeria order on the planned Nigeria Labour Congress and ACN rally by Edo State Government- symptom of political desperation and desecration of the sanctity of the Nigeria Law. A statement by Oghomwan Mandate Group (OMG).

We wish to bring to the attention of the general public; a desperate move by Edo State Government to undermine the sanctity of Nigerian Law, with respect to a kangaroo rally organized today at Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, by a fraction of Nigerian Labour Congress, Edo State Chapter in conjunction with Edo State Government; despite a substantive order of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Abuja division which restrained Edo State Government and Nigerian Labour Congress from doing so on the 21st of March 2012 by Hon. Justice M.N. Esonwe, Presiding Judge; and signed by John Targema Esq. Deputy Registrar, National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Abuja. It is unheard of that a government that got is mandate from the Court room, could be seemingly mean enough to disregard a competent court ruling against it. This remind us of why the state's Attorney General, Dr. Osagie Obayuwana was remanded in prison custody.

As a socio-political organization that is aimed at restoring the dignity of governance to Edo people which has been bastardised; the dignity of Edo person and the upliftment of the standard of living of our people through the election of a credible and virile Bini man as Governor of Edo State, come July 14th election, we wish to express our disdain at the callousness and disregard to the rule of law exhibited by the execution of the rally by Edo State Government despite a restraining court order. This point to the air of lawlessness that Edo state will be engulfed with when the current Government is sustained, God forbid. We call on Edo people to disregard the showmanship that was displayed and the undeserved solidarity that the chief-organizer of the event sought to achieve with the rally. It was an inglorious event after all, as long as the Court of law has ruled against its convocation.

We call on our people to remain steadfast, in our collective mandate to restore Edo to its place of glory, even as we already know that those that bastardised the Peoples Democratic Party are now the co-godfathers of the ACN, Edo state Chapter.
