The latest trend by Nigerian celebrities in waking up to the responsibility of giving back to the society they milked from was continued on December 21 by Uti when he gathered his friends and fans together for a charity event.

The Big Brother Africa All Star winner, Uti Nwachukwu, gathered other celebrity friends of his together at Ojez, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos for sharing of gifts to some selected needy in the society.

Those showed love to at the event were mainly widows and physically challenged children drawn from different parts of Lagos state.
Other celebrities at the event with Uti were Tonto Dikeh, Susan Peters, Desmond Elliot, Chika Ike, Dipp, Alex Ekubo, Goldie, Bryan Okwara (former Mr Nigeria), Michael Nwachukwu (former Gulder Ultimate Search winner), Christopher Okechukwu (present GUS winner), among many others.

Items shared at the event included bags of rice, which the daughter of Delta State Governor, Orode Uduaghan gave 50 bags, cloths and other items needed by the widows and the physically challenged children.

Making his mind known, Uti, a former contestant of The Next Movie Star said, “for me, I have had a very good and successful year, it has been rewarding for me both financially and career-wise.

“So, I thought instead of spending [the money] on partying and getting drunk with friends, why not spend the money on those the society has forgotten, like the widows and [the] physically challenged children who are in need, and what better time to do that other than the season of love, a time of sharing,” the Delta State born Model and TV host concluded.
