ACN Chides PDP Led-Government
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led-government at all levels has been described as ineffective and insensitive to the sufferings of the Nigerian people.
The Rivers State Publicity Secretary of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Jerry Needam made this disclosure to journalists in Port Harcourt while speaking on the federal government proposed withdrawal of fuel subsidy, ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Strike, state security and other issues of national importance.
Jerry Needam noted that when a government like the one run by the PDP fails in carrying out is primary functions of security of lives and property, and guaranteeing for the welfare of its citizens, the system has collapsed and the people are worst for it.
The ACN Publicity Secretary noted with disdain the appearance of long queues at the filling stations due to apprehension caused by the proposed withdrawal of fuel subsidy, the rising spate of kidnap and armed robbery cases besides random killings as a mark of a confused and failed government.
Still lamenting the closure of the nation's universities which has become a tradition, the ACN accused the federal government of plotting to kill the educational system, not minding because their children and wards are schooling overseas.
Blaming all the nation's predicaments on a fraudulent election with fraudulent results that tend to promote corruption at the expense of excellence; the ACN urged the federal government to implement its agreement with ASUU and order for the immediate re-opening of the universities.
It further regretted that the PDP governments sacked by the courts in some areas are plotting to come back by any means to continue their misrule and enjoined the people to rise up and stop them.
