Task Force Arrests Over 163 in Plateau

Report reaching Huhuonline.com / indicates that over 163 people have been arrested in Plateau state, following the violence that led to the killing over 15 people. Military Special Task Force (STF) spokesman, Charles Ekeocha told Huhuonline.com that they are currently maintaining security in Plateau State and have arrested 163 persons over last Sunday's violence in Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area where about 15 people were killed.    

  A 24-hour curfew has been imposed on the council area to stem the hostilities from spreading to other parts of the state, Huhuonline.com gathered.    

  According to the STF spokesman, six out of the 163 arrested persons have been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department in connection with the killing of a police inspector and his family.    

  The police spokesman conceded that 10 of the suspects were arrested with lethal weapons, among them a telescopic-barrelled rifle, four single-barrelled guns and two AK47 rifles.  

  Also recovered from the suspects, are nine locally made guns, two AK47 rifle magazines and other live ammunitions.
