Onitiri in his Sallah message, urged political leaders across the three tiers of government to show dedicated service and shun corruption, especially at a time they are urging for patience and understanding from the citizenry.

Onitiri, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP chieftain and leader of Council of Lagos State Indigenes, spoke against the background of continuing pleas from government for the removal of some safety nets, including the alleged subsidy in the prices of petroleum products.

He said: 'I implore leadership to cut down on their salaries, emoluments security votes for project development in Nigeria.

'We urge our leaders at this period of sacrifice to give selfless service, do away with greed and corruption.'
