BAYELSA GUBER: DICKSON GETS BOOST

Indications emerged, weekend, that Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Special Duties, Mr. Henry Dickson had taken the lead in the race to secure People Democratic Party, PDP, ticket for the forthcoming governorship election in Bayelsa State.

A source said: 'One of the plots is to revive a case involving a financial transaction that Dickson initiated for buying books and other materials for the law library when he was Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice in Bayelsa.

'I doubt the possibility of the scheme working because Dickson applied for the money in good faith and was not the one who executed the project as the money was released almost six months after he left office. In fact, it was approved on May 21, 2007, just eight days to the end of the administration then.'

Justice N. Agbana of  Bayelsa State High Court, had restrained the state House of Assembly which had been reportedly drafted into the battle to cage Dickson.
