PDP TACKLES CPC OVER DOMA'S PREDICAMENT

By NBF News

The position of the party was made known yesterday by the state chairman of the party, Chief Yunana Iliya while addressing political office holders under the platform of the party and other stakeholders at the party state secretariat in Lafia.

Iliya noted that no doubt, the party is facing serious challenges and tribulation as a result of the arrest of former Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma, by the EFCC. He urged members to remain steadfast as the party is strategizing towards restoring its lost glory.

'The recent arrest and detention of His Excellency Aliyu Akwe Doma, the former Governor of our dear state is certainly capable of lowering morale in our determination to rebuild the party.'

He accused the CPC administration in the state of manipulating facts to get at Doma, claiming that the immediate past Governor ran a transparent and accountable administration in line with the people -oriented policies of the PDP.

The party chairman said that the party is very optimistic that Doma will be exonerated at the end of his trial. 'The law will take its course; it is my strong belief that at the end of it all, he will be exonerated of all charges.'

The party said it is also aware of the on-going victimization of those perceived to be supporters of the PDP in the civil service, disclosing that some have already been laid off by the present government.

He then described the action as evil and uncivilized with a strong appeal on supporters of the party to remain calm and law abiding.
