(GSA) has said it would soon embark on education of the masses on programmes of the President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo-led federal government, saying; “It has become necessary that we should not go to sleep after campaigning vigorously to win the presidential election.”

The GSA, which comprised majorly of members of the Goodluck Support Group (GSG) and Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation in Ekiti State has mandated its members in the 16 Local Government areas and 177 wards in the State to gear up for the new assignment.

Rising from its inaugural meeting last Friday, the GSA said in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Rt. Hon. Femi Akinyemi that “those who laboured day and night to secure victory for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the presidential election must have a meeting point where their feelings and that of the electorate will be collated for necessary actions.”

Akinyemi, who was the Ekiti State Coordinator for the Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation noted that “politics in Nigeria has become so dynamic such that it is no longer enough for politicians to campaign for elections and go to sleep after winning or losing the polls.”

Addressing the Local Government and ward coordinator of the group, Akinyemi said; “We have not called you here to form a parallel body to the PDP authority in the State. It is far from that.

“Rather, we know the roles played by each and every one of you to ensure victory for our party in the presidential election.

“Therefore, we have called you here to inform you that your jobs have not ended with the election. You must continue to act as ambassadors of the PDP, our president and his vice, in your respective council areas and wards.

“Henceforth, it is your responsibility to make sure that our people at the grassroot are adequately educated on the federal government programmes and plans so as to avoid misinformation, which you know is the trademark of our friends on the other side.”

While thanking President Jonathan for the rehabilitation and construction of federal government roads in the State, especially the Ado-Iyin-Igede-Aramoko-Erio-Ita Awure and Efon-Iwaraja-Erin Ijesha roads, Akinyemi said; “Ekiti is not being left out in the distribution of amenities and we are grateful to Mr. President.”
