PDP CHIEFTAIN DEFECTS TO ACN WITH 5, 000 SUPPORTERS IN EDO

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Henry Omorogie Idahagbon, has decamped to the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), with over 5, 000 PDP supporters in Edo State.

In a chat with Daily Sun, the former senatorial aspirant said his decision to defect to the ACN was motivated by Oshiomhole's progressive and developmental programmes.

The official ceremony will be performed on Saturday September 17 at the Urokpota Hall, Benin City. Governor Adams Oshiomhole and other top government functionaries are expected to witness the event.

The legal practitioner, fondly called Orator by his political associates, said: 'After a series of meetings with Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole and some top political associates, I decided to defect from PDP to ACN.

'As a progressive, I like to associate with men of great minds and people with great philosophical ideas. And as a native of this state, there is need to join hands with people who mean well for our state, most of us from the poor background wouldn't have gone to school if not for the educational legacies of the late Prof. Ambrose Ali, former governor of the defunct Bendel State.

We have no other state than Edo State, so we are all happy with the development going on in Edo State under this current administration. I'm in love with the policies of the governor. I have decided to join the winning and progressive people to help build Edo State, to make it a better place for future generation to live in.'

He maintained that it was a hard decision to take, but he had to do it in the interest of his people.
