LESS than an hour after celebrating the 25th anniversary of Toyin Adegbola on stage last Friday, Taye Currency was involved in an accident that left his Armada jeep crushed and three of his passengers now on admission in hospitals in Ibadan and Shagamu.

http://nollywoodgists.com source said the Fuji rave left Ibadan for an event in Shagamu, Ogun State, when his jeep lost a rear tyre and summersaulted five times before it finally rested after smashing into two trees.

Akeem Jazzman, one of Currency's band boys, was said to have been transferred to the Intensive Care Unit of UCH after dislocating his spinal cord. Good news is that medical experts promised to adjust his cord.

Others involved in the accident included Ore Banik and Akeem Lapakan, both currently on oxygen treatment at the Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, while Lukman Olunloyo, Taye's driver, who dislocated a shoulder, his P / A, Taiwo Godogbo, and Tunde Gangan, have all been discharged.

Taiye, who was shaken, but not stirred by the accident, never wanted to travel in the Armada jeep that Easter period, but was prevailed upon by some of his fans who did not buy his idea of transporting his boys in a private bus.

In a phone chat with RMT, Taiye thanked God for sparring the lives of his band boys and for making help available when he needed it.

“Nigerians are a helpful lot, passers-bye called for help, else we would all have been stranded”, he said.

“It's true I didn't want to travel in the jeep, I've never done so before, but I'm more grateful that God spared our lives,” he added.

Taye, Pasuma, Yinka James and Femi lancaster had performed at Asewo's celebration from where Taye left for Sagamu where he had the ghastly motor accident, even when doing 70 m/h.
