Music star, Innocent 'Tuface' Idibia, was the subject of a widespread death rumour on blogosphere this week. According to the reports first posted by Global Associated News, the pop icon was alleged to have died after sustaining injuries on a Jet Ski accident on Turks and Caicos Island, an idyllic vacation resort geographically contiguous to the Bahamas Island but politically separate.

The news portal states, 'Preliminary reports from Turks and Caicos Police officials indicate that the musician struck a concrete boat slip in a marina on Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Tuface Idibia was the only passenger on the personal watercraft at the time of the incident. Specific details are not yet available.'

But at the time of the report, Tuface was in the United States of America where he recently threw a lavish birthday party for two of his kids. While the false claim was slowly making the rounds, snowballing and acquiring the status of truth and throwing the entertainment industry into palpable angst, the singer took to his Twitter account, saying, 'Nothing do me ooooooo! I'm still intact oooo.' He follows up with another tweet, 'One love my people o! God pass them.'

Tuface's manager and chief executive officer, Now Musik, Efe Omoregbe, describes the report as 'a nasty rumour.' By dusk on Monday, the singer flew back into the country to put the rumour at bay. The multi-platinum selling artiste is the latest in a growing list of Nigerians that have been rumoured dead while still very much alive.
