NIGERIA MISSES HOSTING RIGHTS

T he CAF Executive Committee has appointed Egypt to host the 1st 'CAF Under-23 Championships' which will serve as a platform for the qualification of the CAF representatives for the 2012 London Football Men's Olympic Games.

The championship will be held from November 26 to December 10.

The draw for the tournament will be held in September 2011 during the CAF Executive Committee meeting in Cairo, Egypt.

The participating teams are hosts Egypt, Algeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Gabon, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal and South Africa.

The top three placed teams automatically qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games while the fourth placed team will engage a team from Asia in a playoff. The London 2012 Olympic Games will take place from July 27 to August 12.
