By NBF News

The team which is not too different from the one that represented the country in a recent ICC African Premier Cricket League division one in Uganda has Captain Endurance Ofem, Adekunle Adegbola, Demola Onikoyi, Saheed Akolade, Olajide Bejide and Olalekan Awolowo.

Others in the squad include Joshua Ogunlola, Chibuike Iteogu, Segun Olayinka, Oluseye Olympio, Ramit Gill and Seun Odeku who is making a comeback to the national team after a long absence.

The list also saw the return of South African-born coach/player, Sean Philips who was conspicuously missing from the team that went to Uganda, and the youthful Varun Behani just promoted to the senior team from the U-19 squad that represented the country in South Africa last year.

Former Nigeria international, Kome Agodo is the team manager.

President of the NCF, Kwesi Sagoe played down the chances of the team in the competition, saying that they would strive for the best even as Nigeria was among the least ranked in the group.

'For the tournament we are ranked 6th. Our target is to maintain our place in Division 6. If we achieve that, we would have taken a great leap forward. With countries like Guernsey, Malaysia, Haiti, Kuwait, we intend to do our best,' Sagoe assured.
